Cine primeste persoana
Dupa "tell" vine obligatoriu persoana careia i se spune ceva: he told me a story, tell her the truth, they told us to wait.
Dupa "say" nu vine persoana direct, ci lucrul spus: he said hello, she said that she was tired.
Daca vreti totusi sa apara persoana langa primul verb, aveti nevoie de "to" (he said to me that it was late).
| Corect | Gresit |
|---|---|
| he told me the news | he said me the news |
| he said hello to everyone | he told hello to everyone |
| she said to him that it was over | she told to him that it was over |
Cu "tell": tell the truth, tell a lie, tell a story, tell a joke, tell the time, tell the difference.
Aceeasi capcana o are si perechea borrow si lend.
